COURSE LENGTH: 4 HOURS

Course Description:

This Course Covers The Requirements For Security Related Training, Paragraphs 1-4 Of Section A-VI/6 And Table A-VI/6-1 Of The STCW Code, As Amended; AND Satisfies The Training Requirements Of 33 CFR § 104.225 Security Training For All Other Vessel Personnel.  Those Who Successfully Complete The Course Should Be Able To Demonstrate Sufficient Knowledge To Undertake The Duties Assigned Under The Ship Security Plan. This Knowledge Shall Include, But Is Not Limited To:

  1. The Meaning And The Consequential Requirements Of The Different Security Levels;
  2. Knowledge Of Emergency Procedures And Contingency Plans;
  3. Recognition And Detection Of Weapons, Dangerous Substances, And Devices;
  4. Recognition, On A Non-Discriminatory Basis, Of Characteristics And Behavioral Patterns Of Persons Who Are Likely To Threaten Security;
  5. Techniques Used To Circumvent Security Measures.

Examination/Assessment:

There Is One 20 Question Written Examination Administered At The End Of The Course.  A Passing Score Is 14 Correct Answers Or 70%.
