Course Description:
Any applicant who successfully completes your Basic Ship Handling & Steering Control Systems (QUALMI-72) course will be considered to have satisfied the Ship Maneuvering and Handling and Steering Control Systems training requirements for certification as Officer In Charge of a Navigational Watch on vessels of 500 or more gross tonnage (ITC) as outlined in Table A-II/1 of the STCW Code, As Amended. The practical assessments conducted as part of this course will be accepted as the equivalent of following assessments from the National Assessment Guidelines for Table A-II/1 of the STCW Code, As Amended. Applicants who have successfully competed this course need not present completed “Control Sheets” for these assessments in application for STCW certification:

Examination: One written examination consisting of 25 multiple choice questions is administered at the end of the course that requires a minimum passing score of 72%.
